Rockwool Sandwich Panels are fire safety, acoustic comfort, and thermal efficiency are critical. With a core of Rockwool sandwiched between durable metal sheets
- Thicknesses ranging from 50mm to 150mm,
- Density ranging from 96 kg to 175 kg per cubic meter,
What is Rockwool Panel?
A rockwool panel is an insulated construction panel made from rockwool (mineral wool) as the core material, sandwiched between protective outer layers, usually metal sheets. Rockwool is made by melting natural rocks (like basalt) and spinning them into dense fibers, which gives the panel excellent thermal, acoustic, and fire-resistant properties.
Key Components
- Core: Rockwool fibers – provide insulation and fire resistance
- Outer Layers: Galvanized steel, aluminum, or other metal sheets – add strength and protection
- Bonding: Adhesive or mechanical pressing keeps the layers together
Applications
Rockwool panels are especially suited for:
- Clean rooms / labs requiring hygienic and fire safe walls
- Acoustic rooms, auditoriums, sound-sensitive partitions
- HVAC duct enclosures & compressor / generator rooms
- Fire-rated walls and Ceiling in industrial & commercial buildings
- Control rooms, turbine / generator enclosures
- Cold storage where sound + fire safety matter
Rock Wool Sandwich Panel Specifications
- Resistance to moisture
- Water absorption by partial immersion: 0.5kg/m2.
- Non Toxic
- Alfa panels are not hazardous to health and do not contain asbestos.
- Environmental impact
- Thermal performance and strength
- At 250C mean temperature thermal conductivity varies between 0.031W/mk and 0.036W.mk depending upon the density of the material.
- Acoustic Performance
- Panels offer excellent sound absorption. The Noise reduction Coefficient (NRC) range from 0.80 to 0.95.
- Fire Performance
- Panels do not contribute in any way to the spreading of fire. It does not shrink, stretch or deform when exposed to fire. It does not cause smoke or any burning droplets in case of fire. It significantly contributes to improved fire safety.
Panels are free from CFCs, HFCs and HCFs and contain phenol resins within the permissible limits.
2HRS Fire Certified
Fire-resistant for up to 2 hours, providing enhanced safety and compliance with fire regulations.
